Artist: Charles Fouqueray (1869-1956) was born in Le Mans and studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He made his career as a painter and illustrator, his work was featured in L’illustration and The Illustrated London News. At the outbreak of the Second World War Foqueray, now aged 70, accepted commissions to create camouflage patterns for French battleships
