Artist: Georges Bertin Scott (1873-1943). The son of a painter, Scott had drawn since his early childhood in Paris. He became a war correspondent and illustrator for the magazine L’Illustration in 1912, covering the Balkan Wars. Scott continued to depict the environment of war for the magazine during the First World War, the Spanish Civil War, and the Second World War.
