Artist: Justin Gabriel (1838-1923), was an accomplished landscape artist respected for both his paintings and etchings. He studied in Paris under both Ziem and Gleyre and began exhibiting regularly at the Salon de Paris in 1865. His art received an Honourable Mention at the Expostition Universelle in 1900. During his career, he traveled extensively in Switzerland, Italy and Holland, as well as Normandy, Brittany and other parts of France.
