Artist: Jan Aleksiun born in 1940 in Nowa Wilejka near Vilnius. After graduating from the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Wrocław in 1959-1966, he received a diploma in the Graphics Studio under prof. Stanisław Dawski.
In 1969 he was employed at his alma mater as an assistant at the Department of Graphics at the Faculty of Painting, Graphics and Sculpture. In 1973, he conducted the first degree program, and in 1979 the post-doctoral degree. In 1981 he became the head of the Graphic Department. In the years 1981-1982 he was the rector of the Wrocław Art University. In 1990 he obtained the title of professor. In 1999-2005 he was the dean of the Faculty of Graphic Arts.
He practices drawing, painting, poster, graphics. He took part in numerous exhibitions at home and abroad. He is a laureate of prizes in the field of poster, graphics and drawing, including the prize of the Minister of Culture and Art from 1994.
