Artist: Paul-Adolphe Kauffmann (1849-1940) was born in Belfort, Upper Rhine on June 8, 1849. An attentive and passionate observer of his native Alsace, he produced a large number of drawings, covering both traditional and political aspects. He is especially known for having sketched the scenes of the daily life of Alsatians on a postcard series.
He did his studies in Colmar where his family came to live in 1849 shortly after his birth, then he began his professional life in industrial design in Mulhouse before moving to Paris.

Description: This poster was bleached to remove old water stains. The paper has returned to its original white. There are closed tears along the margins, one closed tear at bottom into image. Some scuffing along the right margin visible in photo. This earns the poster a B rating and it is priced accordingly. Still a beautiful image and will display well. Printer Lapina. Imp. Paris in margin.
