Using flat areas of colour, outline and sinuous silhouette, the artist depicts the dancer Jane Avril and the critic Edouard Dujardin in the foreground, with the singer Yvette Guilbert on stage. With its 'oriental'-style decoration, the Divan Japonais was one of the many Paris haunts of Toulouse-Lautrec. This poster has the Copyright, S.M.A. written in the lower image. It's not an original poster, but an excellent reprint. I'm unsure of the era.
