Artist: Herman Verbaere (b.1906 Wetteren, d.1993 Zottegem) was a Belgian artist. Son of a printer from Wetteren, we was a landscape artist, watercolourist, designer, engraver and poster artist. He produced many posters for the SNCB between 1935 and 1967. From 1962 to 1970 he worked on the issue of stamps with a Belgian theme. He was also an illustrator for the books Fair Face of Flanders, by Patricia Carson, published in 1969 and Ghent: Bastion of Flanders by Paul De Ryck, published in 1958.
